Research area
I earned my master’s degree from the Department of Hungarian Philology at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow. Currently, I am a third-year PhD student at the Doctoral School in Linguistics, Eötvös Loránd University. The Doctoral Program in Cognitive Linguistics enables me to study the oral strategies of marking social relations. Furthermore, my research focuses on the oral strategies of avoiding marking social relations, strategic politeness, the relationship between indirectness and politeness as well as the influence of spatial factors on politeness. My empirical studies are carried out among native speakers of Polish and Hungarian as well as native speakers of Polish studying Hungarian as a second language. As a result, my findings are comparable, which is not only essential for the development of theories but also for finding a practical application of these results (for example, in the teaching of Hungarian as a foreign language).
