Research area
Experimental linguistics, (interlanguage) pragmatics, intercultural communication, speech act theories, apologizing and thanking. My research focuses on the apologizing and thanking strategies of Hungarian and Japanese EFL learners, more specifically it investigates the differences between these two speech acts' realization patterns of non-native and (British English) native speakers. Furthermore, the other aim of my research is to study the presence of pragmatic transfer in the performance of EFL learners.
